serizawa3000Mystery! had one of my favorite sets for a TV show ever. The animated intro used to freak me out as a kid until I realized it wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Whenever I entertain the notion of doing a "Creature Feature" type show, I don't immediately think of the "Creature Feature" hosts I've seen (Count Gore, Dr. Gruesome, Svengoolie, Marlena Midnite), though I still like them. Instead I think of Mr. Price in this room of macabre bric-a-brac.
When Diana Rigg took over as host, the clutter was removed and the walls done up sort of like Edward Gorey's sets for Dracula on Broadway.
Nowadays you get Alan Cumming (totes adorbs and with an arresting delivery) standing in front of a wall for a few seconds.
